What kinds of businesses do you typically work with?

We work with small owner-operated businesses and growing firms across Sabah, primarily those in trade, services, and professional practice. If you have a few years of operation behind you and are thinking carefully about what comes next, we are likely a reasonable fit. Newer businesses are welcome too — Counsel Review is well suited to early-stage owners who want an outside perspective.

How are the sessions conducted?

Sessions are conducted in person at our office on Jalan Gaya, or via video call if that is more convenient. We tend to keep sessions focused — usually ninety minutes — so the conversation remains useful and easy to follow up on. We send notes after each session so nothing is lost.

Do I need to prepare a lot of documents before we start?

Not at all. A general picture of your recent sales, main costs, and any questions that have been on your mind is enough to begin. We work through the details together during the engagement rather than asking you to do the analysis first.

What does the written output look like?

Written outputs are straightforward documents — typically four to ten pages depending on the engagement. They are written in plain language without unnecessary jargon. The goal is that you can open the document three months later and still find it useful.

How is the pricing structured?

Each engagement is a fixed fee — RM 640 for Counsel Review, RM 1,100 for Direction Planning, and RM 1,400 for the Advanced Advisory Partnership. There are no additional charges for session notes or the written outputs, as these are part of each engagement. Payment is arranged prior to the first session.

Is what we discuss kept confidential?

Yes. Everything shared during the engagement remains between us. We do not share client information, business details, or session content with anyone outside our practice. Discretion is fundamental to how we work.
